EPOXIDIZED NATURAL RUBBER (ENR)
Epoxidized Natural Rubber (ENR)
Epoxidized Natural Rubber (ENR) is a chemically modified form of natural rubber in which a controlled proportion of the double bonds are converted into epoxide groups. This modification significantly enhances oil resistance, gas barrier properties, damping characteristics, and compatibility with polar polymers while retaining the elasticity and sustainability of natural rubber.

ENR is widely used in automotive components, industrial rubber goods, adhesives, sealants, footwear, and vibration-control applications.

ENR Grades Offered
-
ENR - 25 (Epoxidation ~ 25%)
-
ENR - 50 (Epoxidation ~ 50%)

Product Description - (ENR - 25)
ENR - 25 contains approximately 25 mol% epoxidation, offering an optimal balance between the elasticity of natural rubber and improved resistance to oils, fuels, and heat. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring good dynamic properties, resilience, and moderate polarity.

Key Features - (ENR - 25)
-
Improved oil and fuel resistance compared to NR
-
Lower gas permeability than NR
-
Excellent resilience and elasticity
-
Good dynamic and fatigue properties
-
Enhanced wet grip and skid resistance
-
Better compatibility with polar fillers and resins

Typical Applications - (ENR - 25)
-
Automotive tires and treads
-
Engine mounts and vibration isolators
-
Industrial hoses and belts
-
Footwear soles
-
Rubber-to-metal bonded parts
-
Adhesives and pressure-sensitive compounds

Product Description - (ENR - 50)
ENR - 50 has approximately 50 mol% epoxidation, resulting in significantly higher polarity. This grade exhibits excellent oil resistance, gas barrier properties, damping, and adhesion, making it ideal for high-performance and specialty rubber applications.

Key Features - (ENR - 50)
-
Superior oil, fuel, and grease resistance
-
Very low gas permeability (comparable to butyl rubber)
-
High damping and vibration absorption
-
Excellent adhesion to metals and polar substrates
-
Improved heat and aging resistance
-
Enhanced compatibility with polar polymers (NBR, PVC, PU)

Typical Applications - (ENR - 50)
